AVB prepares for Modric loss

Andre Villas-Boas is set to move for FC Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho as Tottenham Hotspur prepares to lose Luka Modric.

The Portuguese tactician was recently announced as new head coach at White Hart Lane, succeeding Harry Redknapp at the club.

Villas-Boas is likely to lose Modric early on this summer, with the Croatia international linked with a move to Real Madrid.

This has seen Spurs linked with Portugal international Moutinho, who enjoyed a successful Euro 2012.

34-year-old Villas-Boas took the versatile midfielder to Porto in 2010 and was part of the side that went the season unbeaten.

However, Porto isn't expected to sell the 25-year-old cheaply and are thought to be holding out for £25m for Moutinho.
