Mancini ponders who needs to leave

“One in one out” is a concept familiar to anyone that has spent an hour or two queueing on a freezing cold January outside a nightclub you don't really want to go into but someone you would rather like to cop off with is inside.

Manchester City are going through a similar problem this summer according to the Sunday Mirror with an object of their affection only allowed to come in if someone City have fallen out of love with can be persuaded to leave.

Said object of affection is a man with many suitors, one Robin van Persie. City want to put in a £20m bid for the Dutchman (who isn't Flying, FYI) but need to shift someone else off of their books before they can make such a move.

The two players City want to shift off are Emmanuel Adebayor and Edin Dzeko who are both rather out of favour at the Etihad. City need to shift these players to make up some room under the “Player Wages” section of their expenditure accounts.

The plan is to offer van Persie a reasonable £200,000 a week (did I say reasonable, I meant disgraceful) but they would need to shift one of the other strikers off of their books.

Dzeko saw a move to Bayern Munich fall through due to his wage demands whilst Adebayor interests Spurs after his season loan there but his wages could be prove to be a problem earlier.

One thing is for certain in all of this; I imagine none of the men mentioned here have had to wait outside a club for longer than 3 and a half minutes during their professional careers.
