Mourinho plots Sahin trade-off

It’s always easier to let go of something if you can ensure you get something else in return; that’s how the system of trade and bartering works otherwise it’s just plain theft.
Luka Modric has wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur for around 18 months now and Spurs have been understandably reluctant to let him go.
However, the Daily Mail reports today that the White Hart Lane outfit are willing to let the Croatian midfielder go to Real Madrid if they can get Nuri Sahin in return.
The Turkish midfielder joined Real from Borussia Dortmund last year and is thought not to want to leave the Spanish capital but knows his chance of securing a first-team spot under Jose Mourinho is unlikely.
Spurs value Modric at £40m but the Daily Mail story reports that they would be willing to accept £30m plus Sahin to ease the deal along.
Real are thought to be the frontrunners to land the Croat ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United and believe offering Sahin and possibly Ricardo Carvalho into the deal could help secure the move.
Modric is currently on holiday after Croatia’s exit from Euro 2012 but is expected to request to leave Spurs upon his return and the move would allow Spurs extra funds to strengthen in the transfer market this summer.
