Who is the odd centre half out at City?

What’s the reward for having your best ever season at club level on a personal and team dimension and a relatively impressive performance for your national team at Euro 2012? Damn right it’s not having your future settled.
Talksport report today that Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott could be the odd man out at the Etihad as the club target Fabricio Coloccini and Daniel Agger to bolster their defensive options.
Lescott has two years left on his current deal and talks about renewing his deal at the club after Euro 2012. Despite the rumour, there is no indication that this is not likely to be the case.
The 29-year-old should be in the prime form of his life and as last season proved at times, City are in need for defensive reinforcements with Stefan Savic woefully exposed at times.
A move for either or both of Coloccini and Agger would more likely be seen as a bolstering of central defensive options for the club and thus having the option of some competition for places to partner Vincent Kompany at the heart of City’s defence.
But then again, Lescott could be leaving after being the odd man out like Talksport say but that’s the thing with speculation; it’s rather easy to go down two completely different trails which are just as conceivable as the other.
