      Chamakh offered in Giroud move

Arsenal are prepared to offer out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh in any bid for Montpellier man Oliver Giroud.

The 25-year-old was pivotal to La Paillade’s first Ligue 1 championship win last season, netting 21 goals that saw them trump Paris St. Germain.

His goalscoring exploits have seen him linked with a big money summer move away from France, with the Gunners believed to be keen on the striker.

And it now appears as though manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to allowed Chamakh to leave in order to secure his top target.

The Moroccan international failed to live up to expectations following his switch from Bordeaux two-years ago, finding the back of the net just 12 times in all competitions.

Wenger is now willing to allow the 28-year-old to return to France in order to secure Giroud, who he feels could fill the void should Robin van Persie leave this summer.
