      Another Hazard contender

Another day, another Eden Hazard story in the newspapers; much like the sunrise and sunset, this kind of event can be predicted by its regularity. This time around, Dukla Prague have been linked with the £35m rated playmaker.

Only joking of course, that was a bit of juicy bait to draw you in. Sorry about that. Anyway the Hazard story today revolves around a fresh contender for the signature of arguably Europe’s hottest property right now.

With Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Barcelona all front runners in the chase of the Belgian, Manchester City have now thrown their rather expensive and probably distasteful hat into the ring.

According to The Sun, City boss Roberto Mancini told a French magazine; I like Hazard a lot. He’s a good player, he’s young and he would do great things in our team. Given his technical qualities City would be the perfect destination for him. I know him and have been following him for a long time. He’s a player a lot of teams want.”

Mancini watched Hazard last month from a ladder outside his house through binoculars at the Lille-Valenciennes match, joining a host of other managers doing similarly including Sir Alex Ferguson himself.

Ferguson said; “There were another two or three players we wanted to see. Hazard is a very good player but there are very good players in Europe. He has excellent qualities. He’s very quick over the first 10 yards.” Which begs two questions; which other player could he possibly have been watching and if he wants someone who is quick over the first ten yards, a contract offer may be on its way to Usain Bolt.
