Bale open to Barca or Madrid switch

Welsh wizard Gareth Bale has given the biggest hint yet, that his long term future may not lie at White Hart Lane and it could in fact be the Spanish dream that he is chasing after admitting it would be difficult for him to turn down La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Bale, who burst onto the European stage after a cameo role against Italian outfit Inter Milan last season where he netted a hat-trick during a 4-3 defeat at the San Siro has won admirers from Europe’s top clubs ever since, and his brilliant individual performance during Spurs’ 3-1 home victory over Swansea at the weekend would only have done him more favours.

Pace, accompanied by a wand of a left foot and the ability to leave opponents in his wake, Bale at 22 surely has all the attributes required to succeed at either the Bernabeau or the Nou Camp should either club declare an interest.

Now one of the Premier League’s most raw talents has issued a come-and-get-me plea, news which will leave those at Tottenham disappointed especially with the uncertainty surrounding manager Harry Redknapp’s and playmaker Luka Modric’s futures.

If you are talking about Barcelona or Real Madrid, two of the biggest clubs in the world, then it's a bit like Harry [Redknapp] and England, it's a once-in-a-lifetime dream,’ Bale told the Telegraph.

‘If you said to any young player that you could play for Barcelona or Real would they turn it down? Probably not.

‘If a bid was accepted you would obviously have to seriously consider it.

‘But that has not happened so, at the moment, I'm just concentrating on Tottenham.’

Bale has netted 11 times this term for Harry Redknapp’s side and has reiterated his desire to feature for Team GB during this summer’s Olympic games in London.

There is no comments because its a stupid statement if Bale said no he would be accused of lying if he said yes he wants to leave Spurs. Going to another Club can be the death of you just look at Keane going to Liverpool he was loved scoring and settled he never came back.the same loved player. The same can be said about Berbatov was a star loved at Spurs at Utd he was sitting watching games a lot even when he scored . The Spanish league is not one i enjoy watching except Baraca and Madrid then its crap like Scotland Italy is played out the best atmosphere is here and Bale would soon be bored Ronaldo looks lost most weeks my advice to Bale is stay where you are the euro is knackered so is Spain's finances. No team will be able to buy players because of the fair play rules watch this space because all the books are in the hands of Ufa accountants and we will see who is in shape and who is in dept

Hardly a 'Come and get me plea' is it?

He'll go one day, they always move on and rarely if ever now (Gerrard being the exception) do the best stars stay put at one club for their career and sometimes you can understand why. Bale loves Tottenham and that can't be denied by his scoring celebrations, he makes a heart with his hands and he's not the type of lad who's going to do that knowing full well that it will haunt him later if he screws those he's gesturing to.

Tottenham ARE a massive club and getting better by the season now, the 'bigger clubs' being mentioned (Real & Barca) are gargantuan clubs but the truth is that how Bale plays would NOT suit either team because basically.....he's TOO FAST. That settled relaxed knock around in midfield style will leave him abandoned out wide, Ronaldo looks lost in many games now. He's scored a ton of goals but you have to watch him to see WHY, he's playing a free role and going after it rather than playing that disciplined 'stay where you play' style......basically he was FAR better at Manure than he is at Real. Bale, stay put lad.....you'll get better and better and the trophies will follow.
