Tottenham To Miss Out On Strike Pair

After a tough spell on the pitch in recent weeks it looks like more disappointment off the pitch for Tottenham according to the Metro.

There have been links with Villarreal and former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi and Internacional hit man Leandro Damiao but both strikers are said to be preferring moves to Serie A.

Harry Redknapp tried to sign both strikers last summer but ended up with Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Metro have quoted Corriere dello Sport on comments that Damiao, 22 made regarding his future.

He said, “Serie A is a league I really like. I’d like to play in Italy because my two favourite strikers there are Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.”

Although Italy is his preferred destination, England or Spain have not been ruled out by the young striker.

Rossi, who is currently injured has been on the Tottenham radar for a number of months but his agent, Federico Pastorello believes Napoli could be his client’s preferred destination.

He said, “Lavezzi going to England and the money from his sale being used to bring Rossi to Napoli? I cannot confirm this, but it is a possible scenario.”

If Redknapp was going to sign either of these strikers they would be big signings for the club. Redknapp’s future may be a concern for Tottenham fans and players alike but it doesn’t seem to be getting in the way of his transfer plans.
