McCormack set for sensational Wales return

Cardiff City are hoping to build on their recent Carling Cup success with a bid for former striker Ross McCormack, currently of Leeds United.

The 25-year-old spent a prolific two years with the Bluebirds, netting 30 times in 88 games in all competitions, and has taken that form with him to Elland Road.

Despite the Whites perilous position in the Championship, the Scotland international still has 15 league goals to his name.

Recently appointed Neil Warnock will be keen to keep hold of his star striker, with the former QPR manager hoping his goals can fire the club up the table.

Leeds currently find themselves just four points off the play-off places, but a move back to Cardiff may to too hard to turn down.

Malky Mackay will be looking to McCormack as he looks to turn his side’s attention to promotion, with the Championship outfit coming close to reaching the Premier League via the play-offs, most recently losing in the final to Blackpool in 2010.

How are the Mighty Whites in a "perilous" position, lying just 4 points away from the play off position? Very poor and lazy reporting with absolutely no substance

Ridiculous article. Are LUFC, going for the play-offs going to let McCormack leave on emergency loan! Don't be so stupid.

My 8 year old daughter could have written a better peice - absolute garbage reporting and very little chance of there being any truth unless our Welsh friends want to 'splash the cash'

Ben, if you're an aspiring writer then best of luck to you. You are going to need it. 'Perilous' position in one paragraph and 'four points off the play-offs' in another.

Possibly the worst thing I have read on a blog, and there is some spectacular drivel out there so that is no mean feat. Well done.

This was same web site that linked Cardiff with move for snoddy a few weeks back which is another no go story.must be a Cardiff based web site that is just embarrassing Cardiff city fans with impossible transfers.

impossble transfers? He mcormack couldnt even make our team u clown

Firstly this article is absolute drivel, wouldn't have bothered commenting but for the CCFC idiot who commented " McCormack couldn't get in our side" , sort of correct as he couldn't when you actually had two descent strikers in Chopra and Boothroyd, and just like McMormack they left for bigger clubs ... lol

while accepting that the article is rubbish there is likely to be a clear out at ER this summer and Rosco may move on; I suppose the one thing that is certain is that Leeds in their perilous position and high flying Cardiff will be in the same division next year!

LOLLOLOLOLOL you guys are fucking hilarious, Leeds in a perilous position, unlike Cardiff who have failed to get out of the Championship how many times now ?? That fat waster Mackay won't get McCormack or Snodgrass and furthermore, who the fuck do you have in your team that is good? you have Whittingham who is massively overrated and fuck all else ... Good luck next season, again, maybe 1 day you'll be as good as Swansea but I doubt it, Cardiff scum.

the championships 2nd top scorer could not get into little cardiff 1st team but aging miller with half the gls can?WHO IS THE CLOWN.LOL

never read such a crock of shit in all my life, for one thing Cardiff have never,or ever will be as big a club as Leeds United but some of the stories that our players are going to this club or that club makes me howl cardiff will never experience premeir league football !!

i have never heard anything as daft as this just bone idle journalism from a story which mentioned last week that mccormack might interest Cardiff in the simmer ..
why would leeds let him leave now for a rival when he and his goals could be the difference between us haveing a chance in the play offs or not .
there are lots of lazy footaball sites who repeat word for word what others say this is another .
Find a credible story of your own with substance then report it as NEWS not gossip ill founded at that

Tool! Slack reporting from a bluebird fan clearly. You didnt want Macca, we do. He has a far betta chance getting promoted with us than he ever will with you. Go away and find something to write about with substance

Regardless of the article, I am a massive Mccormack fan, but just remember we have had him here at Cardiff, we know what he is capable of. He is, while he is on form, the typical striker who will net 10 + goals at the start of the season, realistically what has he done since then? grabbed 3 maybe 4 more over a few months, its what he did in his 23 goal season with us. He does not have the intelligence Miller has on the pitch, which has in the time I have watched City, been matched by no-one. I will admit Miller;s finishing has been horrific at the best of times this season, but the majority of goals have resulted from his intelligence and Whittinghams skill, and to add to the author who said Whittingham is overrated, did you not see the League Cup final?

@ CCFC Fan .. Yep I saw it and I don't get your point, he is overrated, simples .. He isn't half the player Snodgrass is but it's ok, there's 1 thing i've never been more sure of and that's Cardiff being a Championship side next season !!

half the player snoddgrass is? you've just lost all credibility to what you were saying.

To be fair, McCormack is probably going to go to a bigger club than either Leeds or Cardiff. He has a decent record and will be worth a punt at £2m or so for an Everton, Sunderland etc. He's done his time in the Championship, and if the Premier League comes calling, McCormack will want to wave goodbye to the 20,000 or so crowds either Leeds or Cardiff are capable of mustering and say hello to the big clubs, the big crowds and the big money

Everton and Sunderland are not bigger clubs than Leeds fact!!!

Well I would mention that both Everton and Sunderland have won a lot more than Leeds, play in the Premier League, have competed in the top division a lot more times than Leeds and attract much, much, much bigger crowds than Leeds. But seeing as you typed the word fact in capital letters, you've proved your point.

I remember Sunderland averaging 39,500 in the second division a few years ago. What is Leeds' average crowd? Oh, I see it's 21,000. Massive.
