A potential Portuguese exodus at the Bridge

Raul Meireles could be one of the first players to leave Chelsea, after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas.

The Portuguese international was signed up by his fellow countryman in a late deadline day deal in August but now fears for his Blues future after the dismissal of AVB.

The Sun has reported that Meireles feels his first-team opportunities could be limited now that the young manager, who was a big fan of the midfielder, is not at the helm.

Mark Irwin has pointed to the fact that the 28 year-old didn't choose to celebrate with the fans after the FA Cup victory with Birmingham.

On top of this, it would not have sat well that he was taken off before half-time in the league match against Stoke last month.

It was widely reported that there was a divide in the Chelsea camp under AVB's stewardship that involved the senior stars and Portuguese speaking players with the latter group now facing a more uncertain future at the Bridge.
