Birmingham ace subject to Prem interest

Young Birmingham City winger Nathan Redmond is attracting interest from numerous Premier League clubs following a series of excellent displays for the Championship giants.

The 17-year-old only made his league debut for the Blues this season and has gone on to make almost 30 appearances in all competitions for Chris Hughton’s side.

His displays haven’t gone un-noticed, with speculation rife that Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are monitoring the progress of the England U-18 star.

City are keen on keeping their prized asset at St. Andrews, but with the possibility of Premier League football on the table, it may prove difficult to keep hold of Redmond.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger isn’t adverse to recruiting young talent from the lower leagues having plucked Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson from Southampton and Charlton Athletic, respectively.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Tottenham view the youngster as one for the future and the possibility to loan him back to the Midlands outfit for a further season to gain first-team football may prove a viable option for Hughton.

Liverpool are continuing their youth development drive and Redmond will fit into the plans of manager Kenny Dalglish and sporting director Damian Comolli as the Reds look to the future.
