Cooking up a storm at Stanley

It may have taken well over a decade but Accrington Stanley fans are today waking up to a new man in charge of their football club.

Long-term servant and now club legend, John Coleman, put an end to his love affair with the North-West club by moving to Rochdale last month.

But supporters of the League Two club fear not, a food connoisseur is now at the helm and is 'Cooking' up a storm.

Looking for an individual with experience at a similar level is normally the done thing in fourth tier football. But not for Stanley, who have opted for an Irish League gaffer, who comes equipped with a dream name for headline writers.

Paul Cook previoulsy played for Stanley over 5 seasons ago and has since tested his managerment skills in the Irish League, aquirring 3 trophys for Sligo Rovers-

“Paul Cook has the distinction of being the most successful manager in the history of Sligo Rovers. His achievements will live long in the memory of everybody associated with Rovers and we want to thank him for his outstanding and historic contribution to us.” said Michael Toolan, chairman of the Irish club.

With The Crown Ground club's previous exploits in the management market, don't be surprised if the new man in the hot seat turns out to be a bit 'tasty', hopefully the puns begin to die down though.
