    Chelsea target staying put

The days of Chelsea signing whoever they please seem to be evaporating as rapidly as Rafa Benitez's hair, and Paolo Guerrero appears to be the latest player to shrug off the Blues' reported interest.

The Corinthians striker was the deciding factor between Chelsea being Club World Cup champions as well as Champions of Europe* and Roman Abramovic and co have decided to live by the old saying 'if you can't beat them, join them' and have shown interest in the 28-year-old Peru international, as well as Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

*as well as Chelsea being painfully toothless in their efforts to find the net.

In an attempt to scare off the European giants and cling on to the former Hamburg forward, the Brazilian outfit have slapped a £30m price tag on his head.

£30m for a 28-year-old who was signed for £3m just 6 months ago?! You could purchase just over half of Fernando Torres for that.

Actually, come to think of it £30m doesn't sound too much anymore...

Unfortunately for Mr Benitez, Guerrero has revealed his happiness at his current club and insist he will honour his contract with them, something which has left a puzzled look on Roman Abramovic's face.
