Bruce keen to keep impressive loanee's

Its no secret that Hull's impressive run to second place in the championship has been heavily influenced by a host of influential loan signings by Manager Steve Bruce, so its no surprise that Football 365 are reporting that Bruce's main wish this Christmas is to retain these players for the rest of the season.

This weekends round of games saw us reach the halfway stage of the Championship season and Hull find themselves perhaps surprisingly in the automatic promotion spots, so with that in mind both Bruce and Hull will be keen to take advantage of the superb platform they have given themselves and push on for a return to the Premiership. The problem they have however is that their fine form has been built heavily on some strong loan signings with the likes of David Stockdale, Robbie Brady, David Meyler and Ahmed Elmohamady all being significant factors in their rise up the league.

Unfortunately though Stockdale has already been recalled by Fulham whilst rumours are indicating that Sunderland are looking to bring Meyler back to assist in their survival bid. With Sunderland struggling so much this season it would also be no shock to see Elmohamady also recalled, which would therefore mean Bruce would have to rebuild a large chunk of his team midway through the season.

Strangely for Bruce Hull's success might well depend on whether Sunderland's slightly improved form in recent weeks can continue, for if the Black Cats can continue to improve they might not feel the need to recall Meyler and Elmohamady. Whilst the loss of Stockdale will hurt they do also have young Manchester United keeper Ben Amos on their books, however losing their Sunderland loanee's would likely have a real negative impact on their season. So with this in mind you wouldn't forgive Bruce for currently having a few sleepless nights over the future of his on loan stars.
