    Ajax midfielder on Tottenham's radar

After signing Jan Vertonghen from Ajax in the summer, Tottenham Hotspur also enquired about another Ajax man but were told to forget it, but now circumstances have changed!

Christian Eriksen is declining to agree a new contract with his current Dutch club and therefore AVB is interested in the striker once again.

In a recent interview Eriksen was quoted in saying that his dream was to play for Barcelona, but isn’t that everyone’s dream who plays football? In reality, Eriksen realises he may not get a regular first team place at the Camp Nou and therefore his second preference may be to play in the Premiership.

As Eriksen’s current contract talks have broken down AVB seems optimistic that Ajax may play ball this time and allow Spurs to talk to the striker. The price however may bring talks between Spurs and Eriksen to a halt as the forward is valued at £20 million.

Eriksen is already a huge hit in Dutch football. He has 10 goals so far this season and incredibly at just aged 20 he has already played 30 times for his country Denmark and scored 2 international goals.

His claim to fame is that he was the youngest player to play in the recent World Cup in South Africa.

Poor article. He's a midfielder not a striker (as the articles says more than once!!) and this story has been doing the rounds for weeks.
