Dortmund & Subotic set to disappoint Premiership elite

Sky Sports news are indicating that Borussia Dortmund centreback Nevan Subotic looks set to sign a new contract with the German Champions and therefore quash any hopes the Premierships elite had of bringing him to England.
The talented Serbian is believed to have been tracked by everyone who is anyone in recent seasons with Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester Unitedall thought to have been interested in his services. Unfortunately for them (and the football gossips) though if reports are to be believed then the powerful defender looks set to extend his stay with Dortmund until 2016.
Subotic has played a huge role in Dortmund's rise to Champions League title contenders, with his centre back pairing alongside Mats Hummels being considered one of the strongest in all of Europe. This potential contract extension would mean that anyone looking to sign Subotic would likely need to invest mega books, which lets face it is never something that goes down particularly well with supporters.
Given the way that Dortmund are about to take Europe by storm it looks a smart move by the Germans to tie him down before Europe's elite come in with concrete interest, therefore meaning silly money would be required to obtain his services. If Subotic does sign a new deal it would also mean that the gossip columnists would need to find a new favourite defender to link to the premier league given just how often the Serbian has been linked to English football.
