It looks like Brendan Rodgers' latest snub of Andy Carroll will leave the Geordie giant singing his carols in East London this Christmas.

Rodgers allowed Carroll, the only senior out and out striker at Anfield, to leave Liverpool on a season long loan in the summer but now finds a striking crisis has struck.

A clause in the contract of Carroll's loan means he can be called back to Liverpool in January but Rodgers hs made it cler he is looking at other options.

In The Daily Express Rodgers has admitted his forward dilemma needs to be rsolved, 'at the top end of the field we need that help and support. That might take two or three players'.
