    Jose up for City role

It's amazing how two papers can have two wildly different stories about the same subject- it evokes something of Orwell's doublethink albeit on a rather more tedious subject.

Contrare to the Daily Mirror's report that Pep Guardiola is all set to join Manchester City as manager after signing a pre-deal, the Sun is reporting another manager will have that particular role all sown up.

The paper states that Jose Mourinho is ready and willing to take over at the Etihad next summer.

The Sun states that Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes recently met with newly-installed director of football at City Txixi Berigistain in Portugal to discuss the issue, though given Berigistain turned down Mourinho for Barcelona might pour some cold water on the story.

Anyway, the paper believes that Roberto Mancini is on thin ice at the Etihad and City owner Sheikh Mansour may be tempted to sever the ties and bring in a new boss.

Mourinho's advisors, the paper reports, have indicated that he would rather join City than Paris Saint-Germain and has sent out some feelers to the club.

Mourinho has four years left on his deal at Madrid and has himself made noises about joining City though City fans would not want him if chants at the City-Madrid match are anything to go in.
