Redknapp wants his striker back

Darren Bent is set to put an end to his Aston Villa misery, so it would seem.
When Harry Redknapp arrives at a club, you know about it. First of all his famous Land Rover pulls into the training ground and then he proceeds to hang out of the window and discuss his potential transfer dealings.
Well, the Telegraph are reporting that the wheeler-dealer has his beady eye on the frustrated front-man of Aston Villa, Darren Bent. Triffic.
For reasons unknown, the goal-getter has been left in the dark since Paul Lambert and his band of brothers arrived in the Midlands and the need for first-team football has finally bubbled to the point where he is desperate to leave, even if it is to the team at the foot of the table, QPR.
During the period that Bent worked under ‘arry at Spurs, the gaffer famously slated the striker for missing a sitter, saying that even his missus Sadra would have put it away. Oooh errrr.
The London-born whippet has scored almost 200 career goals in his 414 appearances for Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and his current club, Aston Villa.
One thing is for sure, if the deal doesn’t come to pass, Bent will just be another name on the list of people Redknapp was close to signing, alongside, well… everybody who owns a pair of shin pads.
