Torres dropped

Roberto Di Matteo could well be ready to give Fernando Torress the cold shoulder in Tuesday night’s crucial clash with Juventus, ESPN have reported.
Early indications of the 2012/13 season were that the old Torres may be making a sensational comeback after a good run of form.
False alarm, though. Much to the delight of a large contingent of fans (mostly of the Liverpudlian variety) Fernando is back to being unable to hit the back of a barn door.
For a bloke with such an extraordinary knack for scoring, it has to be said that Fernando’s misses must be one satisfied lady. After all, if he’s firing blanks to the scale he has been on the pitch, the goals must be being scored in some other form.
Di Matteo is feeling decidedly less satisfied and has hinted at giving Daniel Sturridge a chance.
"If I believe it is the right thing to do for the team, then yeah, I will leave him out," Di Matteo said. "When we moved Daniel Sturridge up there, he looked a danger. He had a very good chance saved by the keeper and another put wide. He was always a threat to the defence. We need to score goals, this is clear."
Looks like it’s back to the bench for Torres then. Word of advice, Fernando: give the misses a night off Monday and do your scoring on the pitch for a while.
