      That’s my boy!

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has praised his son’s impact within the Tiger’s defence this season.

Alex Bruce joined Hull City when he was released by Leeds in the summer. As Jack Hobbs is currently sidelined by injury Alex has been given a go by his dad and has already made 15 league appearances this season.

For every boy’s dream whether it is for a Sunday league side or in professional football players always look to play for their dad who manages a football team.

At times it can be hard for the Dad manager as he doesn’t want to be accused of favouring his son. I had this feeling when my father managed my junior team. At times it was fun and at other times, especially if we lost there would be numerous arguments at the tea table that night over the day’s events.

Bruce junior has already played under his father at Birmingham in 2005, but hopes this spell will last longer as he has consistently been on the move of late having played for more than 7 clubs in his career so far.

Bruce senior felt that his son had his best game for the club at the weekend when the pair faced up against their former club. Hull City hung on in the end to win 2-3 away after they had initially taken a 3-0 lead in the match.
