That was truly awful

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy had a Saturday afternoon to forget as his side were thrashed 6-0 by Leicester City.
McCarthy described the performance as “awful and abject” as he stood on the sidelined hoping that he was in a bad dream and that someone was soon going to snap him out of it.
But when the final whistle blew McCarthy realised he wasn’t in any dream world as he couldn’t believe his eyes as to what he was seeing.
The Tractors boys manager told his players to keep it tight especially playing away from home. But when they gave an early penalty away, that David Nugent despatched into the net the flood gates opened and it was a very long afternoon.
McCarthy felt very embarrassed by the way in which his side conceded goals, and he stated that he would hope that a performance like that would never happen again.
