Carlos: Anzhi considering bid for United striker

Anzhi Makhachkala team director Roberto Carlos claims the Russian side are pondering a move for Manchester United front-man Wayne Rooney. The Brazilian is quoted on Sky Sports News as suggesting they may move for the England international in January.

Rooney recently made his comeback from a leg injury and recently netted twice in the 4-2 win over Stoke City. Anzhi are keen to compete with the world’s best and have been linked with a host of big name players since signing Samuel Eto’o last summer.

Carlos has now hinted of a possible deal that would see Rooney ply his trade in Russia, with the club's billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov eager to invest to bring success to Anzhi.
