    Sunderland striker wants to stay

Sunderland’s 19-year-old striker Connor Wickham has today revealed that he is not interested in a loan move away from the Stadium of Light.

The bulky forward has told Sunderland Echo that although he is not needed in the Black Cats’ first team at the moment, he believes he will improve with age and is desperate to get some playing time in the Premier League.

Wickham is at the back of a queue of forwards as long as Titus Bramble’s criminal record in Martin O'Neill's side, which includes Steven Flethecher, Fraizer Campbell, Ji Dong-Won, and Louis Saha, and when you’re beneath Louis Saha in any sort of list, you know it is time to leave.

    Ha’way Connor.
