Arsenal look for long-term Van Persie replecement

Arsene Wenger appears to have finally come to his senses and realised that Olivier Giroud is not the ready-made Robin Van Persie replacement he had hoped to be. Indeed, the Daily Mail reports that the Gunners have their eye on Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, the slayer of Manchester United last season of course.

One wonders why Wenger has come to this decision now? Is it Giroud's many glaring misses followed by that anguished facial expressions that Arsenal fans have already come to fear as the norm? Or is it that Llorente is out of contract at the end of the season and thus could be available at a cut-price fee? We all know Wenger's Economics degree would be drawn to the latter.
