McFadden given life line

Sunderland are set to offer James McFadden a deal after impressing during trials and training with the Black Cats. 

McFadden was in attendance of the defeat of Wigan this past weekend and Martin O'Neill says that the Scotsman has done very well and they will discuss things further. 

With Sunderland only able to register 21 of the possible 25 players for Premier League action, McFadden would be a welcomed addition.
