Topal Tickles Top Teams Fancy

One of Europe's hottest properties is Valencia's Mehmet Topal.

This week, his agent has revealed that Manchester City among other big teams have been watching him for months. The twenty five year old Turkish international was influential in Valencia 7-0 demolition of Genk. He has sparked all of this gossip after it was revealed that he has an £8.5 million release clause in his current contract.

City have come out as the front runners it would seem however they may face strong competition from Chelsea. Let's not get to carried away as no club have made a concrete offer to the Spanish club. With two years remaining on his contract it may be a summer deal rather than a January one.

If I was Topal I'd think very carefully about his next carear move as he needs to play regular football. We saw what Nasri amongst others are doing at City and that is bench warming with the occasional game. On the other hand Chelsea are struggling and it's much more difficult to be effective in a struggling team.
