Arsenal linked to Cabaye

Arsenal have been linked with an audacious swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The 25 year-old, who has eight caps for France, only signed for the Magpies in the summer, but whispers are emerging about interest in the former Lille man, who has been hugely impressive since arriving at St James’ Park.

It’s well documented that the Gunners have been looking to add steel to their engine room over the past couple of seasons, with boss Arsene Wenger supposedly eyeing up former United man Joey Barton earlier in the season.

Cabaye could now be his biggest target over the winter months, and the Frenchman would certainly fit the bill, a tough-tackling midfielder with an eye for a pass and superb work-rate.
