    Cahill could attract January interest

Bolton defender Gary Cahill has encouraged interest from a host of clubs after criticising his side's form.

The England international almost joined Spurs in the summer but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Cahill was also linked to Arsenal throughout pre-season, but eventually stayed at the Reebok.

However, Owen Coyle's team have endured a terrible start to the campaign, with just one win in the league all term.

Languishing in the relegation zone, The Trotters' poor state has prompted Cahill to publicly reveal his disappointment at some individuals' performances, himself included, but admitted he was at a loss to why he is having so much to do at the back.

‘You can maybe afford to carry one player but you cannot afford to carry a handful and it has been different players in different games,' he told the Metro.

'When you are under pressure, there is only so much you can head out and defend.'

With the 25 year-old's contract up next summer, a number of top-flight teams are rumoured to be lining-up a move in January.

Will Cahill see out his contract at Bolton, or is he certain for a move in the winter?
