City will have to wait... again

They didn’t exactly crash out of the competition, but after their game against Borussia Dortmund next month Manchester City will no longer be competing in this season’s Champions League.

    That was a little rash

Roman Abramovich is crazy, isn't he? For so long all he wanted was a manager to bring him what he craved the most, that Champions League trophy. What does Roberto di Matteo do? He brings him the trophy (along with another FA Cup) and then the Russian sacks him. Utter madness.

Mancini - he comes from Itlay, he manages Man City

There are some managers I absolutely loathe. Phil Brown, when he was managing Hull, was one of those men and I'm not too fond of Mark Huhges either. Alan Pardew is very dull and we all get a bit peeved off with the amount Sir Alex Ferguson chews down on that bloody gum.

    Can Mancini handle the pressure?

When Manchester City failed to progress from their group in their maiden Champions League campaign last season, a lot of people simply put it down to inexperience, despite the multi-million pound squad at their disposal.  Their current team is even stronger, with an extra year for players to gel combined with the addition of a few more quality signings.  Yet, they continue to struggle.

    Dzeko is the man (VIDEO)

There is certainly a competition at Manchester City to have the chance to lead the attack each week. Roberto Mancini has a task difficult decision to make each week that all managers could only dream that they had. He has four world class strikers that are fit and capable of scoring goals.

Manchester City in Europe: Why the failure?

Since Sheikh Mansour took over at Manchester City in 2008 they have slowly become a powerhouse in English football. With, what seems like an almost unlimited transfer budget and first pick of the world hottest talents, they have the strongest squad and first team in the Premier League; this was compounded by their first title last season. Despite these facts Manchester City have never been able to cut it at the top level of European football, last season they went out at the first stage in a group, in which, they should have comfortably come second to Bayern Munich and this season they sit 5 points off of qualification after a very disappointing 3-1 defeat to Ajax, so why do Manchester City fail in Europe?

Did Manchester City sell the wrong midfielder?

As the summer went on and it became clear that Roberto Mancini was looking to add one if not two central-midfield players to his books, it was clear that someone already at the club was to be sold. Clearly, it was not going to be Yaya Toure, David Silva or Samir Nasri so that left the choice between Gareth Barry and Nigel De Jong.

Just what is Manchester City’s best strike partnership?

While Manchester City’s defensive problems and particularly Roberto Mancini’s inability to settle on a consistent partner for skipper Vincent Kompany have grabbed the headlines, City’s striking problems have been ignored somewhat. To be frank, to suggest that there are any “problems” is a bit far-fetched. City do often look capable of scoring at will and possess four top-level strikers in Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko.

Here we go again then! Balotelli and Mancini are at loggerheads about a lot of nothing again.
