3 Players United Will Have To Be Wary Of - Swansea City

Manchester United of course travel to Wales this weekend to face newly promoted Swansea City, so with that in mind it’s worth taking a look at these three players who we should be wary of going into the game:

Mark Gower

Unknown to Premier League fans until this season, Gower has worked extremely hard alike the rest of his Swansea team-mates to reach the promised land of top-flight football. But since arriving he has impressed despite being a veteran of 33 years of age.

After being released by Spurs in 2001, Gower moved to Barnet and after dropping down the conference joined then Division Three side Southend United in 2003. Five steady seasons followed before he moved to Swansea being signed by Roberto Martinez.

Gower impressed under the Spinard and has since grown to become a popular member of the Welsh side’s squad and has impressed pundits this season with his passing range and accuracy. At the moment he is currently discussing a new contract which on current-form he derserves.

Scott Sinclair

After an outstanding first season at Swansea last year which culminated in Sinclair scoring a hat-trick in last season’s play-off final, it has been good to see the talented winger continue his form into this season.

Once tipped as a ‘star of the future’, he was unable to get a run in Chelsea’s first-team after joining them from Bristol Rovers and after loan spells at Plymouth Argyle, Crystal Palace, Birmingham and finally Wigan decided to leave Stamford Bridge last summer.

After linking up with Brendan Rodgers who knew him from his time at Stamford Bridge, he has shown in glimpses his undoubted potential and at 22 years of age has shown he is not intimidated by the pressure of playing in the Premier League.

Michel Worm

Few football fans outside of Holland would have heard of Worm before this season but already he has shown the talent and ability in his goalkeeping that suggests that he won’t be at Swansea for long if his performances continue to improve.

After making over 100 appearances for FC Urtecht in the Eredivise, Rodgers parted with £1.5 million to secure Worm’s services who impressed immediately on his debut at Manchester City (despite conceding four goals) making several fine saves.

Aside from gifting Andre Arshavin a winner for Arsenal at the Emirates, Worm has shown right now he deserves to be the no.2 keeper for the Dutch national team and there’s no doubt he will be looking to frustrate United this weekend.
