    Flop or not: Philippe Senderos

When armed with the task of putting together an article on former Gunner Philippe Senderos, it bewildered me as how despite spending 7 years in North London, 'Swiss Tony' doesn't appear to have a great deal to show for it. This is by no means a criticism of Philippe, however, as it should be stated that while he only made 64 appearances, when called upon the Swiss defender always did his job quietly and professionally.

Will the real Gareth Bale please stand up?

Two games have defined and, to an extent, shaped Gareth Bale's career thus far. The Champions League double header over Inter Milan, where the Welshman scored a hat-trick at the San Siro followed by a performance that was credited with his finest in his short career and some deem to be the one that won him the PFA Player of the Year.

    Flop or not: Francis Jeffers...

Francis Jeffers, an incredible talent, or was it just that he was young in-form and English and brought media attention to him that led to a big money move to Highbury?

A closer analysis of the critiqued trio

In a sometimes shaky but generally very pleasing 2-1 victory over Sunderland on the weekend there were many good points we can bask in the glory of, the performances of keeper Wocjiech Szczesny and talismanic Robin van Persie in particular.

Are We Really Just a One Man Van?

Before I can even answer this question it is only fair that we go back and compare the 2004 Arsenal “Invincibles” to the current squad we have. The 2004 team had players such as Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg, Viera and the mighty Campbell in defence. How many of these players would get into our starting eleven today?

How do you solve a problem like a right-back?

I swear Arsenal get a ridiculous amount of injuries to key players – as seen in the recent North London derby – with reliable right-back Bacary Sagna suffering a broken leg which will supposedly keep him out for around three months.

How have Arsenal’s new signings fared so far?

Arsenal spent over £50m this summer on seven new first team players. Most of them have been immediately thrust into the team and after seven games, we are starting to get a picture of how good these players can be.

Are Arsenal becoming a one man team?

As I watched Arsenal produce a dominant second half display against Sunderland, there were clear signs of improvement in a team that has had a horrific start to the season.

Liverpool on top despite the Result

So, what can I say? Same old Liverpool, failed to capitalize on arguably their best performance of the season against a spirited if lackluster Manchester United side. I don’t think many people would disagree that Liverpool played United off the park on Saturday. Out-fought them and out-thought them.

England are there - but who gets the nod

While it was easy to forget following the somewhat disappointing turn of events, England’s turbulent 2-2 draw against Montenegro in Podgorica on Friday night did secure their place in Poland and Ukraine for the 2012 European Championships. Everyone is considered and available for selection, the only exception being a certain temperamental Manchester United frontman.

How can Arsenal's season be deemed successful?

In over the seven years I’ve been an Arsenal fan, there has never been such a grim situation surrounding Wenger and his boys. I thought there would never be a sadder moment than Thierry Henry’s departure to Barcelona, but I was clearly wrong. Arsenal have played their poorest football in over 15 years this season and there is a general sense of fear creeping into the minds of Arsenal fans about the current state of affairs at the club.
