Manchester United: Sign Silky Tottenham Midfielder And World Cup Playmaker To Transform Midfield

Manchester United's midfield is bare right now and unless they have some experience and attacking intent pumped into them this summer they will struggle next season. I think that there are two players that could fill that void and make them Premier League contenders once more.

The first of those, in my opinion, is Mousa Dembele. The Tottenham midfielder is exactly what United need in beside Michael Carrick in a way that he would provide energy, and bit of creativity and could link everything together with his passing.

The 25-year-old played in Belgium's 2-1 win over Algeria this week, and although they struggled to win the game, Dembele was one of the standout players for me.

He completed 96% of his passes during the game and played two key balls, and even won a dribble.

The other player I would look to move for is Arturo Vidal. The Chile midfielder is incredibly gifted when it comes to creating chances but knows when to drop deep to collect the ball. He also has a knack of scoring goals when his current side, Juventus, need them.

I think that the two in a midfield trio with Michael Carrick would be the three to transform United back into the well-oiled machine that they were under Sir Alex Ferguson.

I'm a Tottenham fan and you can have dembele. To be honest I thought that you should aim a lot higher. He doesn't create anything yes he has a high pass completion rate but if he can't set Lukaku or hazard off then how's he going to help you. He finished the game with a pass completion of 86% which is ok. His first half was96% but he done his norm and died out in the second half.

Utd already have a great box to box midfielder ( he is strong as an ox , can tackle , track back , hit short and long passes and can score goals ) Wayne Rooney ...

Stuckincornwall. We paid nearly 17 million so yeah 8 million profit for us should do it. Dembele not as bad as people saying on here...not the best season but who at white hart lane did have a great season, manages to start every time in a very good Belgium team, this is not for no reason....Ericsson and lloris ? Dembele still a good premiership player who can improve. 23 million or go do one!!

I thought it was understood that Spurs will not deal with Utd after the way the Berbatov transfer was propagated.

Spurs supporter here, and at this point would not be too disappointed if we lost dembele. He is a classic spurs player - talented, full of potential but inconsistent and does not fulfill his potential. Yeah dembele will make high pass rates but he tend to run a few feet forward, then turns backward ir sideways and passes back or sideways. Not sure how many assists he made, and certainly does not score enough. Maybe just needs the right manager and tactics to get the best out of him. Right now he feels like Jermaine Jenas v2

Take him - he is a crab - he doesn't ever play the ball forward - sideways or backwards only

Dembele is a total waste of space - doesn't achieve anything on the pitch and makes our other former world class player "Jenas" look half decent

If Manchester United are going for players like Dembele they won't get in the top 4 let alone challenge Man City and Chelsea. He is not a regular at Tottenham and flatters to deceive in virtually every game he plays. You are welcome to him. Amazing how far Man United fan's have dropped their standards.

Take him. Yes he has a high pass percentage but to where? Certainly not anywhere useful (or forward).

You seem to have overlooked a couple of vital points (aka common courtesies) in your analysis. Are these players for sale? Do they want to move? Can you afford them. Its already been mentioned that Levy wont sell to Utd unless we get some silly money in return. Its admirable that you fantasise about others teams players (even if it is only Dembele) but do your fantasies stretch to Utd saying 'give me your settled player now coz we say so'?
