Arsenal's First Summer Signing: FOUR Candidates

Although the World Cup kicks off today, I expect Premier League clubs to start naming some summer signings. One team that need a few bodies, in my opinion, is Arsenal - so here are four players that I would label contenders to be the first player to sign for the Gunners in the window.

    1) Alvaro Morata - Real Madrid

The young Spain international has everything that Arsenal want. First and foremost he scores goals, but he is also a decent target man and could be used as a physical presence up front. He is still only 21 and I think he would provide strong backup for the Gunners.

    2) Pepe Reina - Liverpool

There has been talk about the Liverpool keeper joining Arsenal after a permanent move to Napoli didn't work out. Reina is one of the best with the ball at his feet and I think with Wojciech Szczesny as the two goalkeepers they would be sorted for the season.

    3) Serge Aurier - Toulouse

With Bacary Sagna leaving the club, Arsenal need an attacking right-back that has a proven experience at the top. The 21-year-old has that and is another player that has been heavily linked.

    4) Karim Benzema - Real Madrid

This rumour goes back some way and I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal splashed out to land the France international. The former Lyon goal-gobbler has struck 111 goals in 235 games for Real Madrid.
