THREE Tottenham Players That Should Be Offloaded This Summer

Ahead of the new season, here are three players that I think Tottenham should show the exit ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

    1) Kyle Naughton

Having failed to prove himself in the Premier League last season, I think the 25-year-old full-back needs to drop down a level to establish himself as a worthy investment for a club. He played 22 league games last season as Spurs tried to patch their weak defence but was turned inside out on many occasions.

He made just 14 key passes and failed to pick up an assist, which for a full-back is unacceptable - especially at the top level.

    2) Aaron Lennon

The little winger has offered a lot to Spurs over the years but I think his time at a top six club in the Premier League may be coming to an end. He is easily pushed off the ball, struggles to cross the ball and has never really scored enough goals.

    3) Roberto Soldado

After a miserable first season, it wouldn't surprise me if he was offloaded in favour of young strikers or someone with Premier League experience. Whatever the reason for his failings last term he won't be able to just plod along again next time round.

agreed Rose was a much weaker link than Naughton who i would keep as cover for both left and right back.

Naughton yes, but selling Lennon and Soldado would be dumb, we need some continuity, we need better balance and we are weak in key areas but Soldado just needs a fresh start and some service, Lennon could certainly do with gettin g the ball more and quicker too, he does a hige amount of work tracking back helping out defensively which he has to do as Walker doesn't know how to defend any more than Naughton does. If we are going to get rid of three players there'ds's far more deserving candidates starting with Danny Rose. If anyone should be top of the list then he surely he me the one

worst spurs players are kaboul dawson rose and naughton

On last seasons form only Kyle Naughton can be replaced. Keep Lennon and Soldado and write next year at this time -to say if you were wrong right! or not sure!

Dawson needs to go - gets turned inside out by every striker in the EPL. No pace whatsoever.

First to go Dawson and Rose.

Roberto Soldado, from all accounts, has taken a long time to adapt to his new life in London, especially as he did not speak English. He also had to deal with the personal tragedy of his wife's miscarriage. Plus, receiving little or no service under AVB's system must have made the poor guy think to himself "What the hell have I done, coming here?" It really was no surprise to witness his confidence leaving him, which led to bad misses in front of goal, which in turn led to his confidence being shot to pieces. Add in a change of manager, new tactics, injuries and being dropped (immediately after scoring a quality goal against Cardiff!) and any fair-minded person would agree that he didn't have the most favourable circumstances in which to show what he can do.

Now to the positives. Firstly, despite his lack of goal-scoring success, his head never dropped. He kept trying and was able to demonstrate excellent skills in his build-up play, including several exquisite passes. He showed that, even in adversity, he was a class player. Secondly, his English is improving and he says that he and his family now feel more settled in London. Last season's bad experiences haven't diminished his desire to succeed at Spurs and he will now benefit from a full pre-season and a manager who is renowned for getting the best out of his players in a system that everyone understands. Thirdly, we Spurs fans always supported him even through the bad times and he is thoroughly grateful for our goodwill towards him, which has made him even more determined to show everyone that our faith in him will be repaid.

Apart from the above, it is just plain wrong to give up on a good player just because he didn't excel in his first season at the club. Just like a new manager, the key is to give him time to adjust and settle in, and give him full-hearted support during that time. Shipping him out at the first sign of adversity is short-sighted and downright stupid. If things haven't improved after the second season, by all means look again. Give time, and give support!

totally agree with whitehorsepurs re soldado. danny rose has to go and also time to cash in on ade. also remeber our central defenders were left high and dry often as our full backs were closer to the opponents 6 yard box than ours.

I think it's a little unfair to highlight our defenders as being responsible for our unconvincing performances last season..., Walker aside.., none of them have great pace & we simply do not have the personnel to play that high defensive line that AVB, then Sherwood persisted with.., I hope the first thing Pochettino does is abandon it. Having said this I do believe Naughton should be loaned out or sold.., I think Kaboul, Sandro or just about anyone else could do a similar job, or at least no worse. I would sell Soldado tho.., not because he's a bad player but if your going to play one up front, unless we're going to keep the ball on the floor a lot more.., I dont see where he can fit in. I would seriously consider a swap deal with Chelsea if they would entertain Paulino for Lukaku
