He Comes From Serbia: A Tribute To Manchester United Defender Nemanja Vidic

When Nemanja Vidic strolled into the Old Trafford entrance for the first time back in 2006, he was quickly seen as a rough and ready centre-half who would put his face in the way of danger for the love of the badge on his shirt. A true warrior, Since then, not much has changed, but the scale of which his talents are admired have excelled greatly.

The Serbia international played his last game at Old Trafford last night, as he prepares for his move to Inter Milan in the middle.

After eight years at the club, there will be few who won't miss the bustling Serb. In the nine seasons he has spent at United, Vidic has racked up almost 300 appearances for the club and scored 20 goals, though that is only a bonus.

The way he throws himself into tackles with the necessary levels of aggression is brilliant to watch, as he is always spot-on in his measurements.

It is also rare that you see someone get the better of Vidic in the air. Take this season for example - he has been involved in 142 Premier League headed duels, and has won 99 of them. That's a 70% success rate.

I for one am going to miss Vidic at United, and in the Premier League, too. I wish him all the best at Inter and any future clubs.
