Manchester United Target Rubbishes Old Trafford Switch - Why It's A Blow

Thomas Muller has a history of turning it on against the Premier League clubs in Europe, and therefore has gained a reputation for being a quality player over here. He is, of course, but his talent is magnified in England. The Germany international has been linked with a move over to the topflight for a while now, but reports are saying that he has rubbished a move to Manchester United this summer, which is a massive blow for the Red Devils.

Muller has played 30 Bundesliga games this season and scored 13 goals, which is an impressive return for anyone. He has also scored five in the Champions League, which again goes some way to showing his ability.

He can create, too. In the 42 games between the two competitions mentions, Muller has notched 11 assists and averaged nearly two key passes per game.

He's strong but agile, and is superb in the air. He can drop deep, lead the line on his own or drift into the wide areas when playing alongside a out and out striker, like Mario Mandzukic this season.

With 10 major club trophies and a hatful of individual awards to his name, as well as previous experience with could-be manager Louis van Gaal, I think the signing would have been a big one for United.
