Twitter Reacts To Liverpool's Interest In Rickie Lambert

Rickie Lambert's career is one of fairytales. The Liverpool-born striker once worked in a beetroot factory before earning his break in football, and after working his way up through the lower leagues he is now an established Premier League goal scorer and is an England international. He is also said to be on the brink of a move to boyhood club Liverpool, something which supporters of other clubs find slightly amusing.
The 32-year-old is said to be on the Reds' radar and could move to Anfield in a deal worth between £4.5m - £5m but needless to say he doesn't seem like an obvious fit for Brendan Rodgers' free-flowing, youth orientated side.
Lambert isn't the most mobile of forwards and it's tough to see him fitting in with the likes of Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge, though he has proved he knows where the back of the net is.
Here are some of our favourite tweets on the potential move.
We may have no transfer activity at all, but it could be worse, we could be signing Rickie Lambert....just let that sink in #mufc

The difference between Chelsea and Liverpool is, we go for Diego Costa, Mario Balotelli and Edinson Cavani, they go for Rickie Lambert #CFC

A good 3rd choice striker.... You are not going to bring in a world class striker when you have the best 2 in the premiership (at the moment) up front. Amazed that people are saying hes not good enough... Hes made the England team so he cant be all that bad (can he????)
