Waste Of Money: Why Liverpool Must Not Sign This £18m Premier League Forward

Wilfried Bony may have scored a couple of goals against the big sides in the Premier League last year, and he may have recorded a tally of 16 goals in 34 games in his debut season for Swansea, but he is not the striker for Liverpool, in my opinion.

The Reds are being linked with a move for the Ivorian but I would opt against it if I was in charge.

When Rodgers arrived at Anfield one of the first things he did was get rid of Andy Carroll because he didn't fit into the fluid way of play, and although Bony isn't quite as rigid as the England international, he's not far off.

While Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling are all fluid, creative players, Bony likes to shoot from distance and have balls crossed to his head.

He would disrupt the style of football that Liverpool played last season and I think the amount of money being asked is also too much.

Would you want him at your club, Liverpool fans?

Funny how Liverpool have so pied swansea's style of football yet he'd fit in their team but not ours! This article is a load of tripe, he's strong, holds the play up well, has an excellent first touch, can score with his head, from long range, from close range, and he's also something completely different to what we already have (a plan B). He'd be a brilliant signing, but somehow I doubt £18m would get him

Wilfred Bony would be great for Liverpool. what you don't want is all of the players being exactly the same. Bony can hold the ball up, he can shoot, score, integrate, play as a target man, come off the bench when the team run out of ideas and he can give something different in the final third. He would be a great signing and 18 million is not excessive in these days for a top striker with proven PL experience

I don't think you've ever watched Bony play based on some of the things you say. Nonsense article

Got to laugh bony 18 mil more like £30 mil if carool was £36 mil ant way we dont need to sell our best players

Try adding another £7-10m to that £18m and you might not get laughed at.

Funny article, presumably written to provoke responses!

To compare Wifried Bony with Andy Carrol is like comparing a Derby winner with an old large nag that runs every year in the Grand National.

I am afraid £18 million would not buy all of Bony, perhaps three quarters.

He does not want to go anywhere currently and Swansea do not want nor need to sell.

He is an intelligent footballer who is as valuable in defence (having started as a centreback) as he is upfront.
When he arrived at Swansea he was unfit but got steadily better,we might do a swap for Suarez !!

The rumours in South Wales are that the Swans actually paid nearer to 14M for Bony. That was at the stage where they were gambling on an Eredivisie player who had never scored a premiership goal. Now the pundits are saying he is for sale at 18m - fantasy.

Definatly an article designed to prevoke a response!! So here's mine........ Stop chatting shit you stupid oaff!!!!

You don't have a clue what you are talking about. Bony is quality. You obviously have no idea about any players outside of Liverpool

Really? We gambled big time when we brought him to the PL and the cost with add-ons is close to £15m. The gamble paid off and you think our return would be just £3m? Dream on, he is extremely Talented and will hopefully show his worth in the World Cup. The club might let him go for just over £20m plus add ons however he has a 4 year contract and who knows how much he will be worth after another good season. I say unless there is a crazy offer for him we will keep him for next season and re evaluate.

A player is not valued at what Liverpool will pay for him, so open up your mind before penning this type of article.

Having watched Bony play a lot this season, I agree he is a quality player - and Swansea is the perfect club for him.

Given Liverpool have around 60-80 mil to spend this summer - 18m(+) is an excessive price to pay for a player Liverpool don't need and would likely sit on the bench for most of the season behind two of the best strikers in the league.

Not sure why this article is getting slammed so much? its not too outrageous... would i want him in my team? If I were Swansea/Everton/Tottenham/Southampton, yeah definitely Bony is class. As a Liverpool fan? hes completely the wrong player.

    £18m? aahahahahahaha no chancw

Liverpool will buy anyone from swansea--the hot dog man is available for 18m- get real
