Arsenal Looking To Re-Sign £3m Emirates Flop - Why They Would Be Right To Do So

Never go back is a saying that stands for situations both in and out of football. It's often the case that re-signing a player who was so impressive the first time round ends in tears, because they cannot live up to their own reputation and ultimately ruin the memories for the fans. This is different, though, as Arsenal are being linked with a striker who never really made an impact at the club.

Carlos Vela spent three seasons at the north London club and scored just 11 goals in 62 games. It led to him being offloaded to La Liga side Real Sociedad, but his form has picked up significantly.

The 35-time Mexico international has since played 123 games for the Spaniards, and has scored 47 goals. But it is not only his goal tally that has improved, it has been his overall game.

Vela used to wait for things to happen at the Emirates, but he has added a huge amount of movement to his game and often carries the ball forward, rather than looking for it to come to him.

The speedy striker played 36 league games this season and scored 15, but he also created 78 chances for his team-mates - double that of Xabi Prieto who made the second most.

Although I wouldn't usually be too happy with Arsenal re-signing a complete flop, on this occasion I think we should, even if it costs the £3 million being reported.

I can see that you are a racist and very biased person for writing this. Carlos Vela is a great striker, but he sat in 4th on the order of strikers in his first time at Arsenal, he was always behind Cesc, RvP, and Arshavin, who were better strikers than Vela at the time, but Vela didn't want to rot on the bench, like his fellow mexicans in the premiership, Gio and Chicharito did, so he told the club are they planning to start him more, the club said no, so he asked to be sold, even after they sold cesc to Barcelona, and were selling RvP to Man. United. Arsenal still saw great potential in Vela, Arsene put that buy-back clause with Real Sociedad, and it was a smart move, the Striker is now rated at £25 Million if Real Sociedad sell him to Athletico Madrid or Sevilla, but Arsenal can buy him for £3-4 million, i call that a smart move, he'd be a great strike partner to Giroud or Podolski, he doesn't normally play one touch football, he charges the goal. For you to call him a flop, many Arsenal fans have been following him since he left, they know he's a great player, he loves the club even after he left, He spoke very highly about the professor, i'd welcome him back, he's not a flop, he is a great player, and he left the club to prove it by helping take Real Sociedad, a poor spanish club, to the Champions League. Many fans of the Arsenal will agree with me in saying Welcome Home Carlos Vela

A £3m flop?? First of all we didn't sign him for £3m!! so what are you on about??? Plus, not many players who cost £3m can be called a flop...a flop is someone like Torres at £50m!!!! That's a real flop!! Vela cost about £150k!!! I think Arsenal eventually paid £400/500k for him...so half a mil and you're calling him a flop?!?!? lol hmm ok mate!
When he was at Arsenal he was decent!! Awesome chip goals!! He was a bit of a 1 trick pony but now he is a stallion!! The problem was that he mainly played in league cup teams with other youngsters...most of his appearances with the regular first team were as a sub! No way was he getting past Van Per$ie and therefore was unable to get a run of games, which EVERY player needs, to show how good they are!
Then Arsenal sent him on loan to Real Sociedad, and he was amazing in La Liga, playing first team football! 14 goals and 9 assists for an average la liga team in 36 apps...that is incredible and then Arsenal wanted him to come back and he didn't want to come back...why would he? be 3rd/4th choice at Arsenal or 1st choice and bang in loads of goals in Spain?? So Arsenal & Wenger, the GENIUS.. added a buy back clause to his contract... because they knew how good he can be!! Then he destroyed it in La Liga and the Champs League and is now wanted by all the big clubs...Arsenal would be foolish not to buy him back for £3m!!!! If he doesn't break thru this time then they can always sell him back to a Spanish team for £20/25m!!!
So hardly a flop!!!! and could be an amazing piece of business and if he performs like he has in Spain then what a player we will have...who of course knows Arsenal as well as anyone!!! and can fit in straight away!! He could be our left sided Sturridge...Everyone has seen how good Sturridge has been in the last season and a half...he didnt make it at citeh or chelski...and is now the 3rd best striker in the prem!!! So why cant Vela do the same??? Or better??
