Le Tissier Says Shaw Should Reject Manchester United: Why I Disagree

Matt Le Tissier spent his entire career representing Southampton, despite exceeding the ability of most of his team-mates, and played 540 games for them, scoring over 200 goals. He has had his say on one of the club's youth prospects, Luke Shaw, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Both Le Tissier and Shaw have a single England cap to their name, though one is 45 and has been retired for over a decade, while the other is only starting in what will be a very successful career.

The former has said that the latter should remain at St Mary's next season, despite his rapid rise to fame.

    I disagree.

United may have had a dismal season this time round, but next season will be a different story. They will no longer have the pressure of the Fergie era, and will be building a new squad.

With Patrice Evra looking likely to leave as his contract runs up, Shaw would have the opportunity to be a first team regular in front of 75,000 people every fortnight.

It would also give him a better chance of tying down an England spot, and he'd earn a little fortune if he made the move, I am sure.

Why wouldn't he want to join?

Because he is 19, needs games and when he does move he is a massive Chelsea fan?

Le tissier had 8 caps num nut. No champions league football next term for next season and no confirmed manager yet. Why move to a club with neither of these sorted.
