Chelsea: Release Lampard, Recall Courtois And Reshuffle The Attacking Unit

Ahead of the new season, here are a couple of things that I would do if I was Jose Mourinho and wanted to get Chelsea challenging for the Premier League next season.

The first thing I would do is look to get rid of some of the old faces in the squad. The first one I would release is Frank Lampard, as he is getting on a bit and for me Chelsea need a few more energetic midfielders to run the middle of the pitch.

Lampard has been a great servant to the Blues but there is always a time when you need to move on, and if I was in charge I would probably look to move him on.

Secondly, the frontline needs a reshuffle. For me, Lukaku is the man to spearhead the attack and not Diego Costa. The youngster has proved himself in the Premier League two seasons running now and is still just 21.

The final thing I would do, would be giving Thibaut Courtois the number 1 shirt ahead of Petr Cech. The young shot-stopper has spent the last three seasons on loan to Atletico Madrid and has been sensational, and I think he is the future of the club between the sticks.

You must be joking you need experience in any successful team. Firstly cech if he is fit will keep out courtios. Lukaku needs to change his attitude and work hard and Jose Mourinho will pick him otherwise he will be sold. As for Frank Lampard why would you move him on. England have picked him so why not chelsea. He scored a fantastic long distance free kick at the start of the season for Chelsea against Hull. He has scored 8 goals in what some might call a poor season for him. But people should remember his excellent passes to the likes of Torres and Ba which led to important goals and wins for chelsea in both the premier league and champions league.
In fact the games where he has not played or started( in all but a couple of them) chelsea have either lost or drawen
He is not to old at 35 for a new contract Ryan giggs played until he was 40 for Manchester united! Steven Gerrard has scored 13 goals but 10 of those were penalites!

IF the likes of Willian, Oscar, Torres, Schurrle, when they are in wide postions pass the ball across the goal into the box they will see that Lampard is not slowing down and is still making the same runs that defenders hate and finds the space to score many more goals. And he will if Chelsea have the good sense to pass the ball to him in the box or who ever is in the box just like Arsenal,Liverpool and Manchester united would. Also if Luiz and Matic and Willian stop taking poor free kicks and let lampard take them chelsea will get better balls in to the box and more goals from lampard. Eden Hazard who is a great player is also guilty of wasting the bal,l not taking the simple pass and following the rest of the players i have mentioned and are shooting from stupid angles where it is unlikely to score.

Lampard takes the most corners, has on average the second best amount of passes per game only just behind ramires ,has been much better taking Free kicks than most of the other so called stars. and in defence he has not been booked very often.

If chelsea had used him more often at the start of matches this season and in more matches not less maybe it would be chelsea who would and should have been picking up the premier league (if it was not for crazy penalties given against them!) and had he been not suspended for the champions league semi final second leg after his earlier excellent performance's in the champions league match's then chelsea would be in the final of the champions league

So don't think that youth or speed is the answer it is not. You need players that think ahead as footballers who see the spaces that other don't and pick out team mates when others don't and who don't panic when things are tough.

Terry is not Fast as a footballer but he thinks ahead! If only chelsea would think ahead and realise if you don't keep the experience of Lampard and Cole for next season and bring back Drogba even at 36 to play as a 2nd striker behind costa . Then chelsea will not win anything and will probably not even be able to get out of the group stages of the champions league next season.
So sign Lampard up !,cole to bring back drogba buy costa, and if you are really smart buy a midfield player who would sit so Lampard not ANY of the other players can get forward then chelsea and you will see that i am right and they will think why did we not do that sooner.
