Southampton Star Eyeing Serie A Switch - Would Premier League Side Miss Him?

The Daily Mirror reports that Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez wants to replace the legendary Kaka at Italian giants AC Milan for next season. He still hasn’t really adapted to England, though.

Kaka’s romantic return to the San Siro is only to last a season, as he is believed to be heading to the MLS next season with Orlando City.

Ramirez is still Southampton’s record signing at £12 million, and although he has shown moments of brilliance, they have been few and far between this season.

The Uruguayan has struggled to nail down a play in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven, especially with the English trio of Lallana, Rodriguez and Lambert in excellent form.

And with only one goal in his 17 appearances this season, it is hard to see why Southampton shouldn’t try and recoup as much of that £12 million fee as possible.

Reputation can be as important as form, especially when it comes to transfers. Ramirez still has a good reputation in Italy after his two years with Bologna.

Ramirez has simply not adjusted to the speed and the physical nature of the English game but that does not mean that he is a bad player. He is still a quick and skilful attacking midfielder.

And if his move to the San Siro materializes, the 23-year-old will not find a better manager to learn about midfield play than current head coach Clarence Seedorf.

If Ramirez has a good World Cup with Uruguay you never know, Southampton may be able to make a profit.
