Player Report: Arsenal To Start Summer Spending With This £40m Striker?

Arsenal have had a torrid second half of the season. After landing record signing Mesut Ozil in the summer, the Gunners topped the Premier League table for the majority of the campaign before dropping off into a fight for fourth place.

Injuries have played a big part, but for me the main reason for the collapse is the lack of options up front. So the news that Wenger is ready to start his summer transfers with a £40 million move for Karim Benzema will be received well by Gooners.

For me, it's a no-brainer. But why, and what could he offer the north London club?

Benzema is just as capable as Olivier Giroud in the air, but is quicker on his feet and is more composed that his compatriot.

This season he has played 47 games in all competitions and scored 23 goals, 17 of which have come in the Spanish topflight.

He has also notched 13 assists.

He is not the type of player who will chase too many loose balls in the channels but can hold the ball up and create on the edge of the box.

With the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain running past him, I am sure he would be a success in north London.

Gooners, would you want him at the Emirates?

He is as useless as Girould,no wonder Real Madrid are offloading him,he is a liability let him stay where he is and 40m is not worth that much, maybe 15m or 18m.

Giroud is useless player. Benzema not worth 40million. Just sell even at $5million and use Walcott as striker. We have Ox and Gnabry in right wing. Giroud is hopeless: no skill, can dribble, falls like a 3year old.

JUST CASH ON GIROUD BEFORE IS LATE
