Manchester United Ready To Offer £55m For Premier League Pair - Why They'd Be Strong Additions

Manchester United, who are without a permanent manager, are set to offer a whopping £55m for the services of Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw, according to reports from the Daily Mail. Not only is it a massive amount of money to pay, but it is for two players who have never played for a top Premier League club.

Could they handle the pressure? I think yes, and most importantly I think it would be a brilliant double signing should it happen.

Luke Shaw is one of the most promising young full-backs in world football right now and to land his services in place of Patrice Evra would be superb. The Frenchman is out of contract this summer and looks as though he will be heading out of the club, so to replace him with a younger, stronger player can only be a good thing.

Experience may be an issue at points, but he now has two seasons under his belt at St Mary's and is an England international.

Lallana has been the heartbeat for the Hampshire club for many seasons and continues to be on the big stage. He would offer Manchester United a lot of flexibility, creativity and in my eyes is the missing link in the side.

Should United land these two, then I think it can only be a success.

It amazes me that anyone really believed that Southampton would sell any of their young stars when they have big ambitions to improve their own squad to climb the league, perhaps people will believe now that Southampton have released a statement refuting any player leaving and no contact with any other club
