Iniesta To Arsenal? 3 Reasons Why It Won't Happen

The Metro are reporting that Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is urging Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to quit the Camp Nou and join him at the emirates. I laughed as well. Here are three reasons why it won't happen.

1) Barcelona > Arsenal

Would you make the move if you were Iniesta? Barcelona are a club who will always be in with a shout of winning trophies no matter what state they are in.

He has been a major player in what has been one of the finest periods or play from a single club in history, and to give his spot to someone else for a move to north London seems unlikely to me.

2) Xavi or Jack Wilshere?

Iniesta has a telepathic relationship with Xavi, both at club and international level. It is that pairing that has allowed Lionel Messi become arguably the best player the world has ever seen and I would hate to see that partnership dismantled.

Pep Guardiola once summed Jack Wilshere up perfectly. He said something along the lines of, Wilshere is a good player, but we have hundreds of him in Spain.

3) One club player

Iniesta has played over 500 games for the club he grew up at, and another 50-odd games for their B side. Iniesta is a Barcelona man, and I think he will stay until he retires.
