SIX Reasons Why Manchester United Can Beat Manchester City

The Manchester derby is one of the biggest rivalries in the country. There is genuine hatred between the sides and that hits the players when they take to the field. City are looking to climb back up towards the top of the table, while United are still languishing in seventh, but here are six reasons why I think United can win the game.

    1) Wayne Rooney

The bullish forward now has 13 Premier League goals this season and showed us how effective he can be in front of goal against West Ham. He scored on from close to the half way line and then one from a few yards, and gave the Hammers a difficult time from the off.

    2) Martin Demichelis

His timing is horrific and he is liable to making huge mistakes, and for me is the weak link in the City side. Javi Garcia is likely to slot in at centre-back and as he is not a natural defender, it could have a massive impact on the tie. Demichelis should be targeted from all angles by United.

    3) Home crowd

The Old Trafford faithful aren't about to roll over and let their season fizzle out. They have endured a horrible season with everyone poking fun at them, and although they are usually the first to give it out when they are winning, they have stuck with their side throughout the season.

    4) City's away record

Although they have cleaned it up in recent months, City have been shoddy on the road at times this season. You could argue that United have messed up at home this term but if United go all out attack from the start I think it will catch City off guard.

    5) No Aguero

Take a player of Aguero's ability out of any side and it will have some sort of impact. He is always looking to give the City attack another option. He can pull out wide, he can run in behind defenders and can even drop deep to collect the ball. United can breathe a little easier knowing he will miss out through injury.

    6) Underdogs

United aren't usually the underdogs, but this evening they have nothing to lose. They can play their normal game against a side who are  expected to roll over them, and I think that will work to Moyes' advatnage.
