Moyes Out: Why Manchester United Need To Get Rid Of Faltering Manager Sooner Rather Than Later

Manchester United’s collapse and show of non-quality in the defeat by Liverpool show that things have to change at Old Trafford, and sooner rather than later.

Moyes should leave United before the end of the season in order to give the new man a decent chance to evaluate the current playing staff, in my opinion, and allow him to prepare and set things in motion for the following season. A new manager would also give the fans and club a lift that is so desperately required.

It wasn’t just the loss to Liverpool that hurt, United also lost 4-1 at home under Ferguson; it’s the fact that this time round Liverpool are challenging for the title while United are nowhere to be seen. United are currently a team lacking confidence and are a sad shadow of their former selves.

United, a side that won the Premier League at a cantor last season, are going to miss out on the top 4 by some margin and could also crash out at the Champion’s League to Olympiakos.

Moyes looks short of ideas, short of a plan, and short of confidence. This simply isn’t good enough for Manchester United and the board need to cut their losses and get rid. At least if that happens United have the potential to be back to their swaggering and confident best next season under a fresh, new manager.

This season is a write off, but that doesn’t mean the next few seasons have to be too.

It’s time for the board to act, and act now.

Here is 'What Kevin Sheedy said about Moyes'. It explains this 'cowboy's' (Moyes) style and philosophy..The Moyes Mantra

Punt the ball up to Fellaini. Great viewing.

And here is more from Kevin.

In one final dig Sheedy, who won 46 caps for Ireland, told one Everton fan that the club now have a manager “who wants to win games” in Roberto Martinez.

United’s defeat to Liverpool was their ninth in the league and leaves them 18 points behind league leaders Chelsea and 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, with Everton currently three points ahead of them in sixth place.

Sheedy, who played 314 times for Everton from 1982 to 1992, tweeted after the Red Devils’ 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

He tweeted, “All of you out there Moyes was never interested in our youth team or players.”

“In my 7 years moyes showed no interest in our youth team.”

Asked on the social media site whether that must have “done his head in”, Sheedy replied: “Yep, he did.”.
