A Closer Look At How Oxlade-Chamberlain Ripped Palace Apart

Arsenal are top of the Premier League once again after they ran out 2-0 winners over Crystal Palace last night, although they could lose top spot tonight if Manchester City beat Chelsea. There was one man in particular who stood out from the rest, and that was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It was he who scored both goals in the game, but he was about so much more than that.

The energy that he provided in the middle of the pitch was exactly what needed as it allowed the more attacking players to carry out their game without the fuss of tracking back, but it also gave them another option when going forward.

Chamberlain, as I will call him in this article, completed 70 passed in the game and had four pops at goal, with half of those going in.

He looked confident, he looked like he was hungry to succeed and he took the game to Palace without exposing the more defensive spots in midfield. He's hardly featured this season because of injury but with Arsene Wenger unable to choose Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey or Mathieu Flamini, he was forced to play the 20-year-old.

He was the difference last night and the Arsenal fans have him to thank that they are back on top.
