Barcelona Star Linked With Premier League Move, But Is It A Good Idea?

It's been clear for a while now that Victor Valdes' current season at Barcelona will be his last. The 32-year old confirmed his desire to leave the Catalan giants last summer and could go out on a high with the possibility of the treble still remaining, but where's next for the Spanish international?

    Manchester City
have been heavily linked with a move for 3-time Champions League winner, with Liverpool also joining the race, and while both sides are scoring for fun in the league this season, it's the defence where they need strengthening.

    Liverpool
's shaky backline has made the most errors in the league so far this season, and with Brendan Rodgers preferring the tiki-taka approach to games, Valdes would be a perfect fit for the Reds after mastering a similar style of play for years.

Last weekends 4-3 win over Swansea made Liverpool the top scorers in the league so far in the current Premier League campaign, and the possibility of Champions League football on offer next season, the Anfield outfit would certainly be an attractive offer.

Alternatively, with Joe Hart looking far from his best this season, Valdes could provide healthy competition for the 26-year old and join up with several of his international colleagues at the Etihad Stadium.

It's been a case of "you score, we score" for City this season, and a more experienced head at the back could provide more depth to Manuel Pellegrini's star-studded squad as they pursue more trophies in the coming years.
